What would you do if your Dog went missing or was stolen?
The Government is bringing in compulsory microchipping for all dogs from 6 April 2016 to help reunite owners with lost or stolen pets, relieve the burden on animal charities and local authorities and protect the welfare of dogs by promoting responsible dog ownership. Anyone that does not comply could face a fine of up to £500
Low cost microchipping Service in your own home
I am a certified microchip implanter and Kennel Club registered dog breeder and am able to travel to microchip dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.
I offer both regular and mini microchips depending on the size of the breed. (IF you pet is expected to be under 10kg when fully grown, I would use a mini chip, over this I would use a regular chip) Mini microchips are 40% smaller than the standard chip, at 8.5 x 1.4 mm compared with the big old chips at 12 x 2.12 mm. The smaller size and weight means they are much less likely to migrate away from the injection site, and we can also use a much smaller needle, meaning microchipping is less invasive for your pet.
I can make sure that your pet is microchiped and registered on the Petlog database, to ensure you are covered by the UK's largest lost and found pet service for microchipped pets.
All registrations are completed online at the time of implant so no need to send off any forms as the Petlog database is updated while I am with you.
The Petlog call centre is open 24/7 365 days a year and based in the UK, also Petlog is linked to a European network of databases, which includes 32 databases working together giving your customers the best chance of finding your pets wherever they are lost even in another country.
Hygiene is of the up most importance and no needles are ever re-used. All needles are disposed of in a sharps bin after a single use.

Your microchip questions answered
What is a microchip? A microchip is roughly the size of a grain of rice. It consists of a tiny computer chip housed in a type of glass made to be compatible with living tissue. The microchip is implanted between your pet’s shoulder blades under the skin with a needle and special syringe. Once in place, the microchip can be detected immediately with a handheld device that uses radio waves to read the chip, displaying a unique alphanumeric code attached to your pet’s details.
Why microchip your pet? Millions of pets become lost each year; tragically, few are reunited with their owners. Many lost pets end up in shelters where they are adopted out to new homes, or sadly never found. Whilst collars and tags are still essential and required by law, they can fall off or become damaged. Microchipping your pet provides a permanent method of pet identification and offers the best chance of your pet returning to you if they go missing.
Will it hurt my pet? The process is similar to getting an injection, with little or no pain experienced – most pets do not even feel it being implanted.
